April 19-23, 2020 • Sheraton Phoenix Downtown • Phoenix, AZ
Jointly provided by USAAEM
The Disaster Medicine Familiarization Course is designed to expose attendees (physicians, physician assistants, nurses and paramedics) to the challenges encountered in the requirements of providing care in the austere environments after disasters; and provide in introduction to the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform medical functions in support of search and rescue teams during a disaster. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to practice the skills and techniques expected of FEMA and state search & rescue medical personnel in a realistic, field environment located at an off-site disaster training facility.
Because logistical requirements and participant/instructor ratio required to deliver a quality course with field stations, the course is limited to 32 participants.
