The American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM) is seeking up to 12 adults to be model patients during 3-4 hands-on ultrasound workshops during live courses at the 27th Annual Scientific Assembly in St. Louis, MO on June 22-24, 2021. AAEM will pay live models for their time during workshops which provide hands-on ultrasound skill training for physicians to learn the basics and understand scanning proficiencies.
AAEM will offer 3-4 courses covering focused medical scans of Vascular, Abdominal, Echocardiography (heart), and Musculoskeletal (leg/arm) areas. Sessions usually run for approximately 4 hours on several days of the conference. Personal protective equipment will be provided to models.
This opportunity is a rewarding benefit for college or medical students interested in the medical field (future physicians, medical assistants, nurses, physical therapists, and/or other medical specialties) to learn about the human body, earn easy extra cash, and network with physicians from throughout the globe. We are looking for a minimum of 12 individuals to assist with ultrasound courses by serving as a patient model. Models are welcome (and encouraged) to sign up for multiple sessions. Please note: AAEM values and appreciate models that will arrive on time and who are prepared for the course. If you are habitually late or are challenged to arrive on time, please do not apply. Models will receive a stipend at the end of the workshop. Completion of a W-9 is required to receive payment.
