Course Description
Even though Emergency physicians are at the forefront of the care of toxicological emergencies, they may not have immediate access to support from a bedside medical toxicology consultation.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the course, each participant should be able to:
- Discuss the evaluation of common toxicological emergencies.
- Describe poisoning from natural toxins.
- Discuss the management of critical poisonings.
- List 5 antidotes that should be available in every emergency department.
Target Audience
Emergency physicians, nurses, pharmacists, toxicologists, residents-in-training and medical students
